Bobby Brown formed his own music production company in 1979. Not only has Brownrigg produced albums for Bobby’s two groups, The Scottish Accent band and The Cape Breton Symphony Fiddlers, Bobby also leased the rights to several popular Scottish LPs and manufactured and marketed them in Canada under the Brownrigg label. These include Jimmy Shand, Jim MacLeod, Ron Gonnella and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
In addition, with his expertise of Scottish music and studio experience, Bobby has been the producer of many albums for other musicians including Alasdair Fraser, Paul Brodie, Graham Townsend, Rudy Meeks, Bill Guest, Scott Woods, Bobby Frew, Stan Hamilton, Elma Grech, and Music Makars, two of which are on the Brownrigg label. He has also been the musical consultant or arranger or musician for over 100 albums over the years.
Most of Brownrigg’s early LPs have now been re-released as CDs or compilation CDs. Our most recent release (BRG-027) was produced by Bobby with his son, Laird, for his debut Scottish Country Dance album.
